Vintage 40s Sequin Plum Purple Dress
Amazing homesewn 1940s Oxford weave midi dress with dolman sleeves, western-style “smile stitch” sequined arrows, and covered button front closures. Decorative darts at back and front of neckline. Snap button cuffs. Beautiful gathered elbow construction! There are shoulders pads but appear to be easily removable. Hidden side 1940s talon zipper.
Needs a good steam! Flaws include the tracing lines near/under the sequins, faded-looking areas near the seat seam and back top of waist seam, and some slight pulling of the weave in the same area. While this isn’t necessarily a flaw, you can see the edge stitching at the cuffs.
Modeled on size 8 and slightly too big.
