The oval center features a swallow and flowering branch — a beloved Victorian symbol of love and safe return — framed by ornate fan and scrollwork borders. Crafted in lightweight hollow silver, the brooch retains its original tube hinge and has an updated rollover clasp added decades later. Warm patina and light oxidation around the clasp area attest to age and honest repair.
